Tourist visas are valid for 30 days from date of issue and allow you to visit Dubai as well as other emirates in addition to Abu Dhabi. If you want to extend your stay after your 30 days, you’ll need to head over to Dubai’s immigration office and apply for an extension. Your new visa will be issued on arrival.
Transfer Options:
If you’re lucky enough to be taking a long-haul flight to Dubai, consider flying directly into either Dubai International Airport or Al Maktoum International. Both airports offer plenty of modern amenities and easy access to any part of Dubai you might need to visit during your vacation. If you’re looking for an affordable mode of transportation within city limits, a taxi will do just fine—but it can be more convenient (and more comfortable) to take a limo if you plan on doing a lot of sightseeing around town. To get out of town and explore other parts of the Emirates, rental cars are available at all major car rental chains and airport locations in Dubai; public transportation is also widely available, including metro lines which connect many areas with each other.
Where to stay?
One of Dubai’s many delights is its accommodation options. Hotel bars may be great places to mingle, but as far as staying in goes, there are several factors to consider: namely price, location and style. If you want somewhere cheap and close to most of Dubai’s tourist hot spots (think Jumeirah Beach or Downtown Dubai), then a mid-range hotel may be ideal for you. If you can splash out a little more, head to one of Dubai’s top hotels – it won’t break your bank account and you get an amazing view for your trouble.

For visitors who want to spend more than just a day, you can also look into renting an apartment or villa in Dubai; not only is accommodation cheaper outside of Dubai City but there is more space and less crowds. It’s worth noting that if you visit during summer months, from May to September, temperatures can reach up to 43 degrees Celsius; while Dubai tries to mitigate these heatwaves with cooling fountains at popular locations such as The Mall of Emirates, finding air conditioning when necessary is still essential! And if you’re visiting during winter months (from November through February), expect cooler weather (up to 20 degrees Celsius) accompanied by regular rainfall which means raincoats and umbrellas become important again!
